With the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition for PS5, Bethesda Softworks has made a bold move in gaming. This is no longer the same game as the original released on PC and Xbox 360 nearly 11 years ago with an updated graphics engine that now supports better-looking environments, more details on characters’ faces, new lighting effects and revamped animations from those days. Expert reviews have called this a “sophisticated” remastering of an old favorite which shows gamers what’s possible when they upgrade their games to be backwards compatible with consoles going forward
The “skyrim anniversary edition ps5” is a re-release of the game. The re-release includes all DLC and updates from the original release, as well as new features such as remastered art and volumetric god rays.
You can count on a re-release of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with each new console generation, just as you can count on the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. We first awoke in the magnificent world ten years ago, and hearing the sentence “Hey you.” still feels fairly fantastic after all these time. “At long last, you’ve awoken.”
Now, I don’t want to speak too much about the basic game since, let’s face it, there have been MANY other ways to play the game if you’ve showed ANY interest in playing it at all. However, it’s possible that you were too young to play or that you were uninterested till now. The game’s premise is that you play as a created character who discovers early on that she is Dragonborn. Your mission is to slay Alduin, a huge dragon bent on destroying the whole planet. There is a primary questline, but there are a plethora of additional activities you may do to pass the time. In fact, after you’ve completed the course, you’re free to do anything you want!
Now that we’ve cleared things up, you may be wondering why you should bother purchasing Skyrim for the fifth time (don’t lie). The solution is straightforward. Because it is the finest version of the game you will have ever played, unless you played it on PC, in which case, why are you here and not modding it to make it 8k 120 FPS? I’m joking, but I’m not lying when I say this is the finest version. Take it from someone who has played hundreds of hours of PS3 and PS4 games. The increased FPS to 60 makes this game much more unique.
When I played the Special Edition on my PlayStation 4 Pro, I found that if I loaded up too many modifications, the game became clunky and sluggish, but the Anniversary Edition on PlayStation 5 seems to be able to handle whatever you throw at it like a champ!
While the game is the finest I’ve ever seen, it is still Skyrim. And what is Skyrim without having your horse fly away at random, stepping into a dungeon and seeing everyone unexpectedly dead, foes appearing out of nowhere, and other amusing things I saw in a single gaming session? The game is still a glitchstorm, but to be honest… At this point, I wouldn’t have it any other way, you know? I believe that patching everything now would be a disservice to fans. It’s simply another aspect of the game’s allure.
There has been considerable uncertainty over when the game will be released and whether or not you will be able to acquire it. Those who bought the PlayStation 4/Xbox One Special Edition will get a free upgraded version of the game on PlayStation 5/Xbox Series S/X. The Anniversary Edition, on the other hand, costs $19.99/€19.99 and includes all of the Creation Club content published at the time of the Anniversary Edition’s release, including new quests, armor, and gameplay modes. If you don’t already have the Special Edition for PlayStation or Xbox, the price will be $49.99/€54.99. If anybody was puzzled, perhaps this clarifies things.
I’m continuously astounded by how smoothly the game works, how quickly the loading screens have improved, and, most importantly, how thrilling it is to play a game that I’ve previously defeated many times. There’s no better time than now to don your finest Thieves Guild attire and begin picking pockets in White Run. There’s no better way to level up your magic than to assault all of the Empire’s jerks in Solitude. There’s no better time to FUS RO DAH your foes down a cliff than now! There’s no better time than now to play Skyrim if you’ve never done so before. If you’ve already completed the game, head back to leveling up Dovahkiin… Alduin is waiting for you.
