Report: Sony to Announce Remake of a Major PlayStation Title in December

Sony is reportedly set to announce a remake of one of its major PlayStation titles in December. The game has not been announced, but the company has released information about the project and said it will release more details on December 5th.

This December, Sony Interactive Entertainment is expected to unveil a remake of a popular PlayStation game. The allegation comes from Irish folk singer Éabha McMahon (AVA), who claimed in an interview with radio show The Lunchbox that she had written a song for a “huge” PlayStation remake set to be released at the end of the year. The song was created in cooperation with Michael McGlynn, the creator of the vocal group Anna, an Irish composer.

According to McMahon:

“Yeah, it was about a year and a half ago—it was just after the epidemic.” Michael McGlynn contacted me and just said, “Listen, we’re composing music for a remake of a PlayStation game”—and he’s done this before, writing for a variety of well-known titles. However, I am not a gamer myself.

“In any case, he adds, ‘Look, they’re searching for an Irish language play.’ So basically, all I was doing was writing lyric lyrics in Irish, and his kid sang on the track, and his wife organized part of the choir parts, and Michael did the same. He also assisted me with the language aspect, so it was almost like a family endeavor.”

“I wasn’t permitted to actually write for a long time—you don’t know what you’re writing for, and it’s all kept under wraps because they don’t want it to get out.” So, the name of the game is that it will be revealed around Christmas. Now that I’ve heard of it, I can affirm that it’s a huge game, which is fantastic! It’ll be an Irish-language segment in the game, which is fantastic.”

There aren’t many hints as to what this game might be, however some readers believe it’s for a Metal Gear Solid remake, which has been speculated for quite some time. According to the hypothesis, McMahon contributed to a new version of Rika Muranaka and Aoife N Fhearraigh’s vocal track “The Best Is Yet to Come,” which includes Irish lyrics.
