He was famous for miniaturizing electronics and making them accessible to the general public at a period when most were prohibitively expensive. He died in their London home, according to his daughter Belinda, after a lengthy struggle with sickness.
He utilized a pre-existing Texas Instruments chip and rebuilt the device in 1972, shrinking it down for real mobility. He is often credited as the creator of the pocket calculator. He started designing circuit boards in high school and dropped out at the age of 17 to pursue a career as a technical writer while also founding and financing Sinclair Radionics. His desire for tiny, inexpensive gadgets knew no limits. He demonstrated to the world how contemporary electronics might be made accessible to virtually everyone, everywhere, with a variety of calculators, a tiny TV, and the renowned ZX Spectrum. Clive was born in 1940 and had a strong interest in mathematics and electronics at school, designing his own electrical circuits. He authored his first piece for the journal Practical Wireless, which was published, while still in school, and he worked holiday jobs at electronic businesses.
