Bug Fixes

Planet Zoo’s Update 172 brings a number of bug fixes to the game, which can help improve the overall stability and performance of the game. This patch addresses a variety of issues, such as game crashes, graphical glitches, and more. Keep reading to find out all the bug fixes included in Update 172.

Fixed an issue with save game corruptions

We have fixed an issue that could cause an entire save game to become corrupted, including all saves related to it. This would lead to long delays when attempting to load the affected save game or cause the game to crash while loading the affected save. We are aware of this issue occurring with saves that have large numbers of Animal Delivery requests, as well as builds around water enclosures.

If you are still experiencing issues after updating, please make sure to use the “Verify Game Files” option from within your Steam Library for Planet Zoo before proceeding. This will make sure that you have a valid version of the installed files which could help prevent any further occurrences of corrupted saves in the future.

Fixed an issue with animal behavior

Planet Zoo players are always looking for the latest updates and bug fixes to improve their experience while playing. Update 172 is no exception, with a wide variety of bug fixes to ensure your zoo is running smoothly.

The developers have worked hard to fix an issue with animal behavior which was causing animals to become stuck in certain scenarios. They have also addressed a bug which caused incorrect inventory counts when releasing animals into the wild or making trades in the Market. The update also includes changes to welfare calculations for sick and starving animals, ensuring that no animal is disenfranchised from receiving proper care in your zoo. Additionally, this update includes tweaks made to Creative Mode tools stating why an animal cannot be painted, allowing players more control over their creations.

With this update, players can rest assured knowing that the development team is dedicated to making sure that everyone’s Planet Zoo experience remains a positive and enjoyable one!

Fixed an issue with guest pathfinding

We recently identified an issue related to guest pathfinding in our game that was causing disruptions in gameplay and interference with the objectives of some levels. After extensive testing and review, we have successfully implemented a solution that alleviates this problem by ensuring guests navigate the levels using more efficient paths.

The bug fix has improved guest movement by introducing new functionality that identifies areas of unpredictability or difficulty in pathfinding and makes use of alternate routing to improve overall navigation. This allows guests to reach objectives more quickly and eliminates points of frustration for players. As part of the development process, we also incorporated feedback from testers regarding their experiences playing the game with this issue.

In addition, we have adjusted the programming to reduce potential conflicts with other coding blocks during gameplay, resulting in smoother transitions from one level to the next. We are confident these updates will provide a better gaming experience for everyone who plays our game.

Balance Changes

Planet Zoo Update 172 includes a variety of balance changes. These changes are intended to alter the gameplay experience to be more enjoyable and fun for the average player. For example, some habitats have been rebalanced to make them easier to maintain. There are also changes to the Animal Needs and Feeding interface that should make it easier to monitor and manage your park. Let’s look at the full list of balance changes included in Update 172.

Reduced the cost of decorations

Many players of the game have noted that decorations can be too expensive and discourage creative use in the environment. To respond to this feedback, we’ve made a series of significant balance changes aimed at reducing the cost of decorations.

The most noticeable change comes in the form of reduced material costs for many kinds of decorations. This will result in a much smaller upfront cost for players who wish to decorate their environment without having to worry about it cutting too deeply into their budget. This comes alongside changes to decoration tiers, which now have significantly reduced combine costs plus greater amounts of resources stored within them. Finally, some effects related to completing full sets or achieving specific effects with different combinations have also been improved on as part of this update.

We hope that these changes allow players more freedom when it comes to building up their perfect environment and will benefit all levels — from novice builders working with a limited budget through to veterans who want attractive higher-end alternatives that don’t break the bank!

Increased the speed of animal adoption

In order to increase the speed of animal adoption, some balance changes have been made in the game. Animals now occupy a smaller space, allowing them to be adopted faster. The adoption duration has also been decreased, meaning that players can adopt animals quicker than before. Additionally, players no longer have to wait for their partner’s rescue when they get close enough to an animal in need of rescue. This has allowed them to adopt animals even faster and with less effort.

At the same time, some other balance changes have been introduced to make sure the game experience is more enjoyable and rewarding for all players. The number of items required for certain actions has been reduced in order to speed up the process and reward players who manage their resources well. Furthermore, some rewards for completing tasks have been increased in order to encourage players to keep playing and exploring what the game has to offer.

We hope these balance changes have made adopting animals in-game easier and more enjoyable for all our players!

Increased the amount of money earned from animal adoptions

With Update 172, Planet Zoo has increased the amount of money earned from animal adoptions. This change brings a much-needed boost to the in-game economy and allows players to purchase more decorations, habitats, and food for their animal enclosures. Additionally, the change also encourages players to set up even more diversified exhibits featuring animals of different species. It is worth noting that the adoption fees will no longer be dependant on population size — instead focus on species rarity, with rarer more sought-after animals earning you a higher amount of funds than common ones.
For observers and casual players, this change could have little effect as they don’t necessarily have to breed or sell animals in order to stay afloat. However, it’s great news for budding zoologists since it provides them with an alternate avenue for revenue that aims to reduce some of the micromanagement necessary when playing Planet Zoo.

UI Changes

The latest update to Planet Zoo brings some exciting changes to the user interface. This includes improved visuals, more intuitive navigation, and new shortcuts to help you interact with the game. Players can now also access a larger range of content to navigate through, as well as some bug fixes. Let’s take a look at some of the UI changes included in Update 172.

Added new UI elements

Planet Zoo Update 172 has added some exciting new UI elements to the game, providing a more intuitive and enjoyable user experience.

The most significant UI change is the introduction of a ‘filter toolbar’. This toolbar allows you to quickly filter content in the game based on criteria such as biome, species and exhibit. You can also customise your tab layout for increased usability and efficiency.

There are now greater opportunities for customisation of each zoo; you can use customizable flags, special decorations and lighting fixtures to create a unique look that reflects your creativity. Finally, the overall menus have been updated with new icons, clearer layout and selectable text size for an improved team management experience.

In conclusion, these updates provide significantly increased user interface elements within Planet Zoo Update 172; giving an enhanced user experience that enhances your gaming experiences as you build and maintain your virtual zoo!

Improved the readability of the UI

In an effort to address feedback from the community, Update 172 for Planet Zoo includes a range of improvements to the User Interface (UI) that should make its various components easier to use and read.

The most significant change includes re-scaling the UI elements so that each game stat is readable. This helps to ensure that players can easily keep track of their progress and adjust their strategy accordingly.

Furthermore, more text has been added to hover tooltips for items in the UI, giving you more insight into what each stat does and how it affects your zoo in different ways. The colour schemes have also been adjusted, making it easier to distinguish between different types at a glance – such as biological stats versus financial stats – without having to read too closely each time.

The Engineers team have also made improvements on a range of other UI elements including making buttons more comfortable for players with limited mobility by increasing their click targets; ensuring all content is appropriately sized for display on even the largest monitor setups; and generally reducing clutter along the bottom parts of menus.

We hope these changes result in a better overall experience when playing Planet Zoo, allowing you to concentrate less on fussing with menus and more on building your ultimate animal kingdom!

Improved the navigation of the UI

The latest update for Planet Zoo has made a number of UI improvements to the game to make navigation more intuitive and user friendly. Specifically, the design team has reworked item descriptions in the menus, making it easier to see at a glance what each item does. The build menu has also been modified so that each type of structure pops out more easily and is more visually distinct. Additionally, icons on the map have been tweaked, making them easier to distinguish from one another. Finally, some items in the habitats tab have been rearranged into logical categories for quicker access. All these changes are designed to make it easier for players to manage their zoo and find the items they need in a snap!

Performance Improvements

The latest update to Planet Zoo includes several performance improvements aimed to enhance the overall gaming experience. One of the major features of this update is the implementation of several optimizations that have been designed to reduce lag, improve load times, and provide a smoother gaming experience. Additionally, this update also adds a range of bug fixes and improvements to help ensure an optimal gaming experience. Let’s dive into the details!

Improved the performance of the game

Planet Zoo Update 172 contains several performance improvements that should reduce input and output lag, improve the loading times into save games and reduce hitching during gameplay.

We have improved the core renderer used by Planet Zoo by introducing an enhanced framerate limiter, allowing users to set their preferred maximum refresh rate up to 144hz. Additionally, we have implemented a number of optimisations to both CPU and GPU usage which should result in improved performance across all PC setups.

Additionally, in order to improve game stability we have identified areas which may cause some effects or hitches during play. We have significantly reduced the amount of game resources (both objects and textures) loaded at once, resulting in reduced strain on PCs with lower specs. This should help ensure smoother frame rates for low-end PCs when playing Planet Zoo.

Improved the loading times

The latest update for Planet Zoo has implemented a variety of performance improvements across all platforms. Among the most notable improvements are substantially reduced loading times, framerate optimizations, and more.

The update has significantly lowered the wait times for breaks in gameplay between loading sequences, allowing for smoother transitions between areas or separate instances. To ensure that gaming machines operate without overloading, every aspect of the game was optimized to run on minimal system resources while ensuring optimal framerates.

Furthermore, the patch also includes various bug fixes such as corrected asset textures and missing visual information within promotional and campaign scenarios or zookeeper notes. This allows players to get significantly more accurate information without glitches or distortions getting in the way. All of these changes should create a much smoother and reliable gaming experience overall while substantially improving load time speeds.

Improved the stability of the game

Update 172 has made a range of smaller improvements and changes to the game’s stability, helping ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience. Some of these changes include:

• Reduced the frequency of graphical errors.
• Fixed a crash caused when employees tried to pickup animals.
• Fixed crashes that could occur in some sandbox save files when placing decorations.
• Optimised the load time of Animal Market stalls.
• Improved general game performance and stability with several server-side and client-side fixes for reported issues.
