Disco Elysium is a unique and colorful platformer that takes you on an adventure with the titular character as he searches for his missing sister. The game’s mechanics are simple, but its story and aesthetics make it worth playing.

Disco Elysium is a game that was released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It has received mixed reviews, but some critics have praised the game for its visuals and soundtrack.

REVIEW – Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is an excellent game, particularly for people who like RPGs and research. Disco Elysium is an excellent option if you liked Planescape: Torment. And if you haven’t played it yet for whatever reason, you don’t have an excuse any more, since ZA/game UM’s is now accessible on consoles as well!

How typical: you wake up in a hotel room with a bad hangover and amnesia thrown in for good measure. As a result, it’s entirely up to you what you make of your character during this deep RPG – including the dialogue system, which is as complex as Planescape’s – and, as expected, whatever you do and say will have an impact on the story (which has been expanded since the original, released in 2019!) and the other characters.

What’s the experience like on PlayStation?

The PlayStation 5, on the other hand, boasts faster loading times. The reason it doesn’t receive a better grade here is because, even on the latest Sony system, if you’re traveling about a lot (think the good old institution of quick travel), it might take an embarrassingly long time. It’ll be really irritating on the PlayStation 4/PlayStation 4 Pro combo. Performance has been… well, well, that’s why the final score has been reduced. On PlayStation 5, it does not operate at a consistent 60 frames per second. This game should operate perfectly, in my opinion. But yeah, it does sometimes crash. The same issue happens with earlier Sony computers, albeit with more restricted performance…

Aside from the dialogue, your character’s skills will be important, as you will have no fewer than twenty-four of them, covering a wide range of abilities (from logic to authority, there are both physical and mental attributes), and since I used the term “investigation” intentionally in the intro paragraph, there are some skills that might come in handy here and there (for example, if you have more logic, you can see the case much easier), but on the other hand, you might migrating. Even then, I didn’t explain that skills are formed during character creation based on your basic attributes (psyche, motorics, physique, intelligence), and that because we’re talking about an RPG, you may level up and increase your abilities. Above all, the ideas must be stated – these (three at most initially) will enter your mind when chatting to other people, and over time, you may notice a stat boost as well as a change in your mental state. This line is essentially attempting to convey that a second playing may provide a completely different experience when compared to the first.

Even though you will be mainly in the city’s Martinaise district (and strangely, I initially typed Martiniase, even though I seldom drink alcohol…), the tale, set in the city of Revachol, only emphasizes it even more – it was written wonderfully. The characters aren’t going to hold back. Seeing their anarchic, filthy remarks was a lot of fun for me, and the atmosphere was fantastic as well. The dark tone and style will follow you wherever you go (as the developers tried to give you complete freedom), though it will mostly be in text, as Disco Elysium lacks complete voice acting – this may be the game’s biggest flaw, as you will mostly hear your old reptilian brain or Kitsuragi, your partner. At the very least, they sound fantastic. The rest isn’t going so well.

You are free to solve the case in any manner you see fit. This is why I can confidently state that the replayability has improved. This is a game that you may discuss with your friends and share your experiences with. Someone else may have had a Y, or even a Z experience instead of X, and I might claim I had an X experience. It all starts when your talents don’t completely prevent you from advancing through the game – you can do your duties in a number of ways thanks to them, so there’s a lot of diversity. You simply have to get beyond the graphics, which in my view are a bit lacking in Disco Elysium – people who evaluate games solely on their visuals may dismiss the game after seeing two images, and they may be missing out on something incredible: this game is one of the greatest shocks on PC. Only for PC, since the game is now only accessible on Steam and GOG — the work of ZA/UM (such a strange name…) is not yet available anywhere else.

So the graphics may be the game’s other flaw, but I have to say that the creators did an excellent job of recreating the CRPG style, and they were influenced by the Infinity Engine. BioWare? BioWare. Not today’s, and I’m sorry to say, braindead BioWare, but the one from two decades ago. Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale were created by the same team. So, even without the clicky action, if you enjoy tabletop RPGs (and I believe there is a rebirth of them in video game adaptations – just look at how Werewolf and Vampire – The Masquerade is receiving game adaptations…), you will feel quite at home.

What did The Final Cut bring to the table?

We now have a political compass that may help us find a solution in a variety of ways. There’s a new location that focuses more on how much of a mark we can leave. The political boost to this game may be tough for some players to take, but rather than piss off one group, I’d rather piss off everyone or nothing, since I’m just not going to include it into the rating. Regardless, it’s a fresh addition. I should also point out that ZA/game UM’s now has complete voice acting. The controls will be simpler if you play with a controller, given that the game was designed to be played on consoles as well. If you have a powerful enough monitor, you may certainly anticipate 4K and 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5. Don’t worry if you already own the original: The Final Cut is included as a free upgrade! That’s all right.

Disco Elysium earns a nine out of ten (which also applies to The Final Cut, albeit the 9 on PlayStation is a bit weaker), since it doesn’t give a damn about contemporary events or trends. Instead, it’s a solid RPG. If it just looked a little nicer and had a little more sounds, it would easily be a 9.5. It boasts a good narrative, fun gameplay, and a wonderful atmosphere — and its system requirements are so minimal that it could even run on a toaster. Thankfully, the game’s expanded edition did not detract from the overall experience.

Pro:

+ It had a great atmosphere + It was well-written + It may be replayed in ALL CAPS

Against:

– The audio isn’t as bad as it was previously – It should be a little more appealing – I awarded it a nine for a reason… I’m not going to point out flaws!

The disco elysium ps4 bugs is a game with a lot of bugs. It has been confirmed that the game cuts well on console, too.
